A Taste of January....

The cold front with the associated low off the coast is going to blast through the Tahoe Basin this evening. Based on the latest model run showing a bit more liquid the snowfall forecast may need to bump up slightly from yesterday.  It looks more like 3-5 inches in the Village, 4-6 inches at the base lodge, and 6-10 inches at the summit.

Plenty of cold air behind the front with highs only in the 30's on Friday and down into the teens Friday night. That will make for some great snowmaking on top of the fresh snow through the weekend.

The next storm is set to drop in on Saturday and bring another round of cold of snow. The snow amounts will be similar to the first storm so we should double down on the totals. Temps will stay cold through Monday until warming a little Tuesday ahead of the next approaching storm.

The storm for the middle of next week is looking to become cut off from the main flow and may sit off the coast for a couple of days. A subsequent storm to our North the end of next week will help to push the low inland over CA. We will have to watch the exact track of this low. If it comes in directly over Tahoe it could mean a nice shot of more snow.

Stay tuned.......BA
