Update.........

Snow levels down around 7000 ft. Webcams show Sierra with snow to the bottom, & snowing over Donner Summit. Reports north of tahoe of 5500 ft. snow levels. I think we are right around 6800 ft. currently with temps dropping slightly on the peaks. This is obviously a good sign.

I think it is a bit lower. I am at 6400' and it was snowing most of the morning. The temp dropped to 33 degrees here about 10am this morning after raining all night.

Thanks for the spotter info, definitely helps. I went for a little drive and found it started snowing around 6300-6400 ft. Started sticking around 6700, and there was 4-5 inches by the time i got to 7300 ft.

So does this mean the weather reports are wrong and there is snow on the mountain afterall?

yes, lots of snow on the mountains above 7000 ft. reports of 6-12 from resorts early this afternoon.

First of all, I love the blog. Are the snow levels supposed to remain below 7000 for tomorrow and Saturday?

you can thank Northstar for gaining another loyal fan to your Tahoe weather blog- didn't even know you existed BA until I stumbled across your link on their site. Keep up the good work and STELLAR information- greatly appreciated!!!!

Keep praying for more snow-

I dunno. Webcams for Northstar and Alpine show wet at the bottom with lots of snow on top. Going by the webcam at Spooner Lake, there was heavy snowing in early afternoon after rain in the morning and then rain came and washed it all off the trees. :(

I guess I will find out when I show up at NS tomorrow.

If it's wet at the bottom and dumping on top, don't ride all the way to the bottom, there is still over 1600 feet above 7000, that is plenty.
