Summer to Arrive by End of Week....

Finally, after another cold & wet weekend & one more shot at showers tonight into tomorrow, the summer ridge will build in by Wed. This should bring temps back into the 70's by Thursday & then near 80 on Friday. Should stay dry & in the 70's thru the following week. I'll let you know if this changes, otherwise I'll be out enjoying summer finally until further notice. BA

Is this average for June? I checked the weather on my iphone and it said it would cool off. It predicted highs in the mid/high 60s and thunderstorms. Of course, I did check the weather for TAHOE CITY. The weather for TRUCKEE might be warmer.

Avg. temp for this week in Truckee is around 73 degrees. We are running about 6 degrees below normal on the month. It has also been wetter than normal. Before today Reno was #3 all-time wettest for June, but after today that could be #2. It may only hit the upper 60's on Sunday behind a cold front, but I think it will be close to 70 & then warmer again by the end of next week.

The forecasts are different everywhere. I have three data bases for weather; Northstar, accuweather, and my iphone. This forecast predicts highs in the mid 70s. Accuweather predicts that it will stay cool. My iphone predicts average temps and thunder stormy. I also wanted to ask you what you meant by, '#3 all time wettest'. I am guessing it meant third on record.

Thanks for all the great forecasting BOB

Yes, #3 on the all time wettest Junes list, which goes back to 1870. With all the different elevations, it depends on the forecast spot as to what the temp forecast will be, it changes as you go up and down.

Would you tell me how close to average every month since September was. With this wet June, it might of bumped up since I last checked.
