A Whole Lotta Snow Out There

Northstar has picked up another 15 inches on the mountain as of this morning and it has been snowing all day! The total for the storm is now up to 2 feet up top and the total including Monday's storm is just over 3 feet at 38 inches. We will know the final total tomorrow morning including all the snow that fell today.

The sun will return Friday and temperatures will rebound into the 40's for the weekend and even 50's at the base Sunday and Monday.  A beautiful weekend to get out and enjoy all the fresh snow.  Pack the sunscreen.

The next chance for a storm will be Tuesday-Thursday next week. The forecast models disagree a little in the timing of the precipitation moving in but it looks like a light-moderate snowfall even with several inches of snow possible. The current storm was forecasted this way 5 days away and then got stronger as it approached. With the pattern next week this could happen again so stay tuned.

After that the teleconnection patterns suggests that we stay in stormy pattern for another week. The forecast models are split beyond day 7 with half showing dry conditions moving in and the other half showing a very stormy pattern setting in with several strong storms. Should get some better clarity over the weekend. BA
