Northstar California picked up another 6 inches last night to bring the 3 day total to 16 inches. We will have a break today through Friday before we have another chance of light snow over the weekend.
The next storm moves into the Pacific NW on Saturday and should bring some light snow showers to the Sierra. Right now it looks like the heaviest precip will stay to our North but we could pick up a dusting to a couple of inches through Saturday night.
The next system for Sunday night has trended off the CA coast, so it may slide down the coast and keep us dry. The pattern for next week looks quiet as we await the next pattern change. Looking at the teleconnection forecasts they are favorable for a pattern change to begin around the last week of the month into March.
Looking at some of the long-range forecast models they have been hinting at a possible cold trough dropping down the West Coast the weekend of the 25th and opening the storm door. It is still too early to buy into yet but it looks like it could happen next weekend or the following week.
I will continue to keep you updated. BA
